Suggested Road Map
Healthy Children Healthy Futures was created specifically for afterschool programs, and it is designed to be flexible and adaptable to a variety of program settings and program schedules. Whether your group meets every day or once a week, whether you are working in a school or a community-based setting, you can be successful using this program guide and the accompanying materials.

A sample daily agenda for Healthy Children Healthy Futures might look like this:

Sample Session:
1) Distribute and eat healthy snacks (5 minutes). See list of snacks.
2) Play an Active Energizer-"Mingle, Mingle, Mingle" (10 minutes).
3) Develop a Radio Script (45 minutes).
4) Distribute parent participation postcards for kids to take home to their families (5 minutes).

What Each Session Includes
Each session includes the following basic elements:
 Healthy snack
 Physical activity
 Media activity based on The 8 Habits of Healthy Kids™
 Parent participation activity in the form of parent postcards
