There are seven basic phases of the Healthy Children
Healthy Futures Program:
1. Snacks and Physical Activity
(Active Energizer)
2. Getting Started
3. Media Literacy
4. Developing Messages
5. Creating Media
6. Recognition & Celebration
7. Parent Participation
What is Required and What is Flexible
It is recommended that these seven phases be done in the identified sequence
- you should not skip phases. Within each phase, there is a fair amount of flexibility
with the activities and time allotment. Ideally, you will have at least 60 minutes
available per session, but you can adapt the activities to your timeframe. It
is recommended that your group meet twice a week or more, but the activities
can be adapted to fit your program schedule. For consistency, this guide is written
with 60-minute sessions in mind.
