Moving In Place:· 5 minutes
Purpose:
To energize the group through a role-modeling
physical activity.
Tasks for Facilitator:
• Create a list of "in place" activities (e.g. dancing
walking, running, jumping, swimming, etc.).
• Post the list.
Materials Needed: "In Place" activities list
Instructions:
• On the "Spend at Least 1 Hour a Day
Being Physically Active" Fact Sheet in
the Kid Packet there is a list of activities to "move the body."
• Ask a small group of kids to shout out the activity to you while you stand
in front of the group and (similar to the warm-up/cool-down energizer on page
19) demonstrate "in place" activities from the list: dancing, walking, running,
biking, jumping rope, swimming, etc.
• The children follow your lead and imitate
these physical activities. Ask for volunteers to "role-model" a favorite "move
the body" activity. |
