Drink at least two glasses or bottles of water a day instead of soda

Why do you need to drink more water?
Water has been called a "Miracle Fluid" because of all the good things it does for your body:
Controls body temperature
Helps take food from our mouths through our intestines
Keeps us alert
Carries nutrients to the body cells that need them
Eliminates waste
Prevents dehydration after sweating

What happens if you don't drink enough water?

Every cell needs water, and if each cell doesn't get enough you may get:
Tired
Headaches
Burning dry eyes
Burning in the stomach
Dry mouth
Loss of concentration
It's good for you to drink water when you're a kid and it's good for grown-ups too. Adults who don't drink enough water are more likely to develop certain health problems like kidney stones and intestine problems compared to those who DO drink a lot of water.

Why is water better than soda?
A can of regular soda contains 10 teaspoons of sugar. Water has no sugar.
Water has no calories.
City water has fluoride-Soda does not.
Cola sodas contain caffeine, which causes the body to lose water. Water does not have caffeine.
Also, too much soda can:
Give you cavities
Make you gain Weight

So, how much water do you have to drink?

AT LEAST two large glasses or bottles of water a day and MORE when...
You are active
You are sweating
It is hot outside

How and when can you drink more water?
IT'S EASY TO DRINK WATER THROUGHOUT THE DAY:
When you are studying or doing your homework or with your meals and snacks.
Bring a water bottle when playing sports or riding bikes.
Buy water bottles instead of soda from vending machines.
Add water to fruit juices or sports drinks.
