• There is the same amount of water on the Earth now as when it was formed. • Water has no pure color. Tiny particles and gas bubbles in it reflect the colors surrounding the water... Under a blue sky it only looks blue. • 97% of the earth's water is ocean saltwater. • Only 1% of the earth's water is available for drinking. • A person can survive a month without food, but only 3-5 days without water. • The human brain is 75% water; Muscles in our body are made up of 75% water, too. • A cow must drink 4 gallons of water to produce just one gallon of milk. • Water expands when it freezes. • Water is heavier as a liquid than a solid, which is why ice floats. |
