City parents provided some delicious, flavorful recipes, many of them handed down from past generations. Changes were made to boost their nutritional value. These changes are noted in the "Healthy Recipe Makeover How-To" section included with each recipe.

To help you and your family cook and eat healthier, here are 30 easy, delicious recipes. These recipes are also easy to prepare with your children.

The original recipes are from families who live in the Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York City areas-they're culturally diverse and cityfriendly. The "make-overs" were completed by a staff of nutritionists to make them healthier. They're simple to fix-and some are fast to fix, too.
